Calico Wallpaper Introduces Tapestry, A New Mosaic Inspired Wallpaper Collection

New York, NY (November 15, 2023) — Calico Wallpaper is pleased to present Tapestry, a new collection that draws inspiration from the mosaic masterpieces of Spanish architect and designer, Antoni Gaudí. Designed in-house by Rachel Cope, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Calico Wallpaper, the collection pays homage to the captivating unpredictability found in nature.

Tapestry employs a wax resist technique, where wax is artfully applied, followed by a wash of pigment. Evocative of shattered tile shards, the resulting patterns burst into vibrant waves of color. To add a touch of glamour and sophistication, Rachel Cope interspersed metallic lines throughout the pattern, transforming each design into a standout work of art.

Tapestry is available in eight colorways, Enigma, Glisten, Luminary, Luster, Opulence, Sparkle, Spectrum, and Tranquil, each meant to evoke a unique formation. As with all Calico Wallpaper collections, Tapestry was born from original artwork. The Calico Wallpaper team employs advanced technologies to translate its designs into custom-fit murals that are tailored to a client’s project and space. ABOUT CALICO WALLPAPER
​Calico Wallpaper is a designer of bespoke wallpaper. The company was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2013 by creative and life-partners Nicholas and Rachel Cope.
