Calico Wallpaper Introduces Luminous, a New Collection with Suchi Reddy Exploring Light, Color, and Perception
Debuting during NYCxDESIGN in an immersive installation at Calico Wallpaper’s Tribeca showroom.
New York, NY (May 15, 2026) — Calico Wallpaper presents Luminous, a new collection created in collaboration with architect and designer Suchi Reddy. Rooted in Reddy’s pioneering work in neuroaesthetics, the collection explores how light and color are experienced in architectural space - at once deeply personal and universally resonant.
Rather than treating light as purely visual, Luminous considers it as sensation: something that shapes perception, mood, and emotional resonance. Each design reflects the dynamic interplay between environment and individual - how the same spectrum of color can evoke entirely different responses depending on memory, context, and the energy we bring to a space.
“Collaborating with Suchi was a deeply inspiring process,” says Rachel Cope, Creative Director of Calico Wallpaper. “Her perspective on light brought a beautiful dimension to the work, resulting in designs that feel atmospheric, introspective, and quietly radiant.”

Through layered gradients and atmospheric transitions, the collection captures light as it moves, diffuses, and transforms. Colors unfold not as fixed surfaces, but as immersive fields - subtle, shifting, and alive - mirroring the ways we perceive and process the world around us.

The designs are presented across six distinct colorways - Awaken, Beam, Brilliant, Emanate, Flash, and Lucent - each offering a unique emotional and perceptual experience. From soft, rising luminosity to saturated, expansive fields of color, each palette reflects a different register of energy and atmosphere, inviting individual interpretation.
Luminous will debut during NYCxDESIGN through an immersive installation that explores the intersection of color, sensation, and emotion. The presentation invites visitors to move through shifting environments of light and tone, experiencing firsthand how subtle variations in color can alter perception and feeling. The installation is open May 15th to May 19th from 10am – 6pm.
