Calico Wallpaper and Ahluwalia Launch “Estuary” During London Design Festival

What: Calico Wallpaper and London-based fashion label Ahluwalia launch “Estuary,” a new bespoke wallpaper collaboration inspired by the movement of water and the cultural landscapes it connects.
The collaboration marks Ahluwalia’s first exploration of wallcoverings, translating Priya Ahluwalia’s distinctive visual language into an immersive mural format. Drawing inspiration from the fluid movement of water, “Estuary” explores ideas of connection, cultural exchange, and the landscapes that bring people and places together.
“Estuary” was unveiled alongside Ahluwalia’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Revel, during London Fashion Week, where the bespoke mural served as a backdrop to the presentation at Rosewood London. Its sweeping, fluid composition provided a visual counterpoint to the collection’s exploration of joy, togetherness, and intentional lightness.
The collaboration brings together Calico Wallpaper’s expertise in bespoke, artisanal wallcoverings with Ahluwalia’s multidisciplinary approach to design. Known for combining traditional decorative-art techniques with innovative technologies, Calico Wallpaper works with a global roster of designers and architects to create immersive environments across residential, hospitality, and cultural spaces.

ABOUT CALICO WALLPAPER
Calico Wallpaper is a designer of bespoke wallpaper. The company was founded in Brooklyn, New York, in 2013 by creative and life partners Nicholas and Rachel Cope. Their process combines artisanal methods from the decorative arts, such as traditional marbling and dip-dyeing techniques, with innovative technologies. Calico Wallpaper works with a global roster of leading designers and architects. In addition to residential and hospitality projects, Calico Wallpaper’s designs have been exhibited internationally at Milan Design Week and London Design Festival and have obtained a place in the permanent collection at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. In 2021, Calico Wallpaper opened its first showroom at 57 Lispenard Street, New York, NY, with partner and furniture manufacturer Stellar Works.
ABOUT AHLUWALIA
Founded by Priya Ahluwalia in 2018 after graduating from the University of Westminster’s MA Menswear course, Ahluwalia is a multi-award-winning label rooted in the designer’s Indian-Nigerian heritage and London upbringing. The label brings together influences from art, music, literature, and culture across the African and Asian diasporas, exploring the intersection of past and present through innovative textile techniques and considered design.
For Spring/Summer 2027, Ahluwalia presents Revel, a collection reflecting on the power of intentionally choosing lightness and the people who make that choice possible. Drawing inspiration from resistance, community, music, and celebration, the collection explores optimism and togetherness as enduring forces in uncertain times.
